Bandipora,27 March. Bandipora Police on Wednesday arrested a drug peddler and recovered Charas from his possession.
In a statement issued today, spokesperson said while continuing its drive against drug peddling in order to eradicate this menace, District Police laid a naka at Papchan led by SHO PS-Bandipora under the close supervision of DYSP HQRS.Bandipora Mir Murtaza.
"During Naka a white colour car bearing registration No. DL4CAF۔4167 was intercepted. The car was driven by one Majid Rashid Sheikh S/o Ab. Majeed sheikh R/o ward No.5 Sheikh Mohalla Bandipora & upon the Personal search about 300 gms of chara's like material packed in Maize peals was recovered from the possession of the said driver and he could not produce any justification for the same," Reads the statement issued by the Police.
"FIR under relevant sections has been registered in PS-Bandipora, further investigation set into motion to ascertain any further inter-district or inter -state link".
Officials said the General Public applauded the efforts of District Police Bandipora's consistent actions against drug peddling to end this menace.
