Bandipora: Government forces on Saturday launched a major Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) in Gundpora area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Reports said that army's 144RR, and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir launched the joint operation in the Gundpora village of Bandipora District.
They said that massive deployment of forces has been made in the town and house-to-house searches were going on.
An official said that the CASO was launched following “specific” inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
Searches were going on when last reports came.
However, no contact was established with the militants so far.
