First stop attack on employees then we will join offices: DMEF to Govt

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 18: Darbar Move Employees Federation (DMEF) toady reiterated the call for not joining the offices till peaceful environment is not restored in Jammu.

"It is out of question for employees to leave the family quarters until peaceful atmosphere is not restored in Jammu. How we can leave our families when despite repeated assurance by the administration, Toof Sherkhan employees quarters were attacked with petrol bombs on Sunday when curfew was in place," Federation said after calling an emergency meeting of all bearers under the chairmanship of Federation State President Ovais Wani.

He rued apathetic the support of all employees for not joining offices on Monday despite SRTC buses turning up at their quarters.

He also blamed the Jammu district administration for stopping federation office bearers from visiting family quarters of employees by not issuing curfew passes to them.

Wani appreciated the J&K Bank management for filling case in ATM's in different areas of the city which provided big relief to the people standard in Jammu from many days.

Saying that employees don't want to be logger heads with the administration l, he appealed the Chief Secretary to pull up the officials who are not doing their duty in restoring the peaceful atmosphere of Jammu.

"We are hopeful that Chief Secretary will take the officials who look at crises through the prism of a particular community to ask," he asked.
