DC Bandipora asks NHM Employees to resume duties immediately

Bandipora, 07 Feb: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary Thursday asked the striking NHM employees to join back to their duties with immediate effect or face action.

          In a tweet, DC Bandipora asked the NHM staff to immediately report to duties or else action shall be taken against them. “Govt is working on demands of contractual NHM staff. No point in making patients suffer endlessly.” He tweeted.

          NHM staff is on strike from last twenty five days demanding regularization of their services and other benefits. The health services across the district were affected by the strike. The striking employees are demanding regularization of their services.

          The strike has badly affected the healthcare in Bandipora as the SDH hospital is solely dependent on NHM employees due to the dearth of regular staff in the hospital. The worst hit is the rural health care where most of the sub-centers are closed from last twenty five days as the permanent staff members working in the centers were called by authorities to the main hospitals.

          Locals said that in absence of trained NHM staff, most of the centers across villages are closed and even patients hesitate to visit the main Bandipora hospital were insufficient number of untrained volunteers are serving on the call of local officers.
