PM to inaugurate J&K’s first Rural BPO in Bandipora on Sunday

Bandipora, February 1: For generation of the employment opportunities in Kashmir and especially in a landlocked District like Bandipora, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate the first BPO (Business Processing Outsourcing) center of Kashmir on Sunday following his three-day visit to JK.
The BPO center is the first initiative of its kind taken by the District Administration Of Bandipora under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Shahid Iqbal Choudhary aimed to create business opportunities for educated youth in private sector especially in Bandipora where there are less opportunities for educated youth in Government sector.
Officials said the aim of BPO is to attract entrepreneurs, investors and MNCs in IT to establish their business units with ultimate objective of enhancing employment opportunities for the youth in Jk and the first unit has been started in District Bandipora on trail and experimental basis.
The BPO would provide employment to 250 local youths in the first batch and will work 24*7 in three shifts of eight hours each. Another 600 young people would be provided with IT-related training annually with the ultimate objective of completely eradicating unemployment in Bandipora in coming batches according to official inputs from CPO office Bandipora.
"I have completed my B-tech in 2017 and now I am hopeful to get some job,as the creation of BPO in Bandipora has generated hope in me and many others to get a job in private sector and I believe the need of the hour is to open BPO's in every district especially in Kashmir,” said a B-tech student Aubaid ur Rehman from Watapora Bandipora.
“We appreciate the District Administration especially Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahid Iqbal Choudhary for initiation of BPO and people friendly initiatives in Bandipora for unemployed educated youth as it can be a revolutionary step in tackling the problem of growing unemployment in state,” said another unemployed B-tech student Umar Illahai of Plan Bandipora.
Assistant Commissioner Bandipora Reyaz Ahmad Beigh told Kashmir Convener that," The District Administration has created a platform for multinational companies to provide employement to local educated and skilled youth. “The BPO Bandipora will be run any multi-national company and the jobs will be provided by the company to the local youth and there will be no interference of District Administration in that. “The innovative idea was given by Chief Secretary of JK and more BPO's will be initiated in other districts in future. The Project will be inaugurated through E-inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on third January,” he said.
Business process outsourcing (BPO) is the contracting of non-primary business activities and functions to a third-party provider. BPO services include payroll, human resources (HR), accounting and customer/call center relations.BPO is also known as information technology enabled services (ITES). BPO increases organizational flexibility is by increasing the speed of business processes. Supply chain management with the effective use of supply chain partners and business process outsourcing increases the speed of several business processes, such as the throughout in the case of a manufacturing company
