Sopore, Oct 31: National Conference MLA Irshad Rasool Kar on Saturday called for greater political representation and participation of youth, saying they should be given adequate space to raise their concerns and fight for their rights.
Speaking to Kashmir Convener on the sidelines of a provincial youth convention organised by the party in Sopore, MLA Kar said young people constituted a significant proportion of the population and their participation in political affairs was important.
He urged the youth to remain patient, raise issues concerning their rights and continue working towards their social and political aspirations.
“We should remain patient and fight for our rights and issues. We have to move forward so that we can achieve our goals,” MLA Kar said.
The NC legislator said the party was active across the region and the youth convention was organised to encourage greater engagement of young people in political activities.
