The scientists highlighted that women farmers are not merely contributors to agricultural operations but are also decision-makers, entrepreneurs, custodians of traditional agricultural knowledge and key partners in agricultural innovation. They stressed the need to strengthen their access to scientific information, skill development, quality inputs, value addition, market linkages and income-generating opportunities.

The programme also provided an interactive platform for farm women to share their experiences, discuss field-level challenges and learn from one another’s achievements. The importance of capacity building, entrepreneurship development and the integration of improved technologies into farming systems was underscored.

Addressing the participants, the Head and other scientists of KVK-Anantnag, emphasized the need to recognize the contribution of women farmers and equip them with the latest scientific knowledge and technologies.
