Army Goodwill School Bandipora Observes World Mental Health Day

Bandipora, Oct 10: Gopi Singh Rathore Army Goodwill School, Bandipora, observed World Mental Health Day on Saturday with activities and an awareness session aimed at promoting emotional well-being and mental health among students.

An official spokesperson of the school said during the programme atleast 10 students delivered speeches and presentations regarding the mental and recited poetry besides participating in other activities. The school’s principal Shabnam Kausar was the chief guest on the occassion while teachers and students attended the event.

A mental health awareness session was subsequently organised in collaboration with a team of psychologists and doctors from District Hospital Bandipora.

Students of Classes 6 to 9 attended the session, which focused on psychological well-being, stress management and the importance of seeking professional help when required.

Principal Shabnam Kausar said the initiative aimed to sensitise students to mental health concerns and encourage a supportive school environment where young people can discuss emotional challenges and seek guidance.

She said the programme sensitised students to the importance of mental health, emotional well-being, and stress management. She said the awareness session provided valuable guidance on maintaining psychological well-being and seeking professional assistance when required. “The initiative contributed to promoting mental health awareness and encouraging a supportive and healthy school environment,” Kausar added.
