CEO Bandipora Flags Off ULLAS Awareness Rally at GHSS Hajin

Hajin, October 6: Chief Education Officer Bandipora Mohammad Rafiq Mir on Tuesday flagged off an awareness rally under ULLAS initiative at Government Higher Secondary School Hajin.

         An official spokesperson said an awareness programme and rally was organised in Educational Zone Hajin to promote literacy, lifelong learning and community participation. Teachers associated with ULLAS, representing high, higher secondary, middle and primary schools across the zone, participated in the programme.

         ULLAS (Understanding of Lifelong Learning for All in Society) is a Government of India initiative aimed at providing education and literacy to people aged 15 years and above who have missed out on formal schooling.

Officials said the programme focuses on foundational literacy and numeracy, critical life skills, vocational skills, basic education and continuing learning, while encouraging community participation and volunteerism to promote a culture of lifelong learning.

The awareness session was conducted by District Nodal Officer (DNO) ULLAS Irfan Maqbool, who briefed participants on the objectives and implementation of the initiative and highlighted the role of teachers in taking literacy and lifelong learning initiatives to local communities.

Addressing the participants, CEO Bandipora Mohammad Rafiq Mir stressed the need for coordinated efforts by educational institutions and teachers to strengthen literacy initiatives and promote an informed and empowered society.

Principal and Cluster Head HSS Hajin Mehboob Ahmad Khan, ZEO Hajin Masood Ahmad Magray, District Cultural Coordinator Bandipora Reyaz-ul-Hassan, Javid Ahmad Mir from the CEO’s Office, ZNO ULLAS Mohammad Saleem and Zonal Cultural Coordinator Hajin Muntazir Muneer were among those present.

Following the awareness session, a ULLAS rally was taken out from HSS Hajin and culminated at Government High School Hajin. A large number of students participated in the rally, carrying the message of literacy, learning and awareness.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by ZEO Hajin Masood Ahmad Magray. The proceedings were conducted by Zonal Cultural Coordinator Hajin Muntazir Muneer.

Officials said the programme reaffirmed the commitment of Educational Zone Hajin to expanding awareness about ULLAS and promoting literacy and lifelong learning among communities.
