DUBAI, October 3: Investigations into the incident involving Flydubai flight FZ1073 have found that the co-pilot attempted to carry out a terrorist act, the UAE Attorney-General has said.

According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Attorney-General Counsellor Dr Hamad Saif Al Shamsi said the co-pilot began executing the alleged plan during the flight by attacking the captain inside the cockpit with a crash axe and attempting to take control of the aircraft.

The investigation is continuing to establish the circumstances and motive behind the incident, including whether the co-pilot had any links to other individuals or organisations.

Authorities are also conducting technical examinations and analysing physical and digital evidence as part of the investigation.

Al Shamsi said the final findings would be announced after all necessary investigative and legal procedures are completed.
