PUNE, September 28: Twenty Kashmiri girl students visited the National Defence Academy (NDA), Pune, as part of an Indian Army capacity-building initiative aimed at providing young students exposure to national institutions and career opportunities.
During the visit, the students interacted with women officers and lady cadets and learned about the academy’s training, discipline, leadership and institutional values.
The cadets also shared their experiences of being part of the first co-educational batches at the NDA, encouraging the visiting students to explore career opportunities in the Armed Forces.
The educational tour was aimed at broadening the horizons of young girls from Kashmir by providing them firsthand exposure to the country’s tri-services training institution and familiarising them with opportunities beyond their immediate surroundings.
The initiative also sought to promote confidence, leadership and awareness of national service and the Armed Forces among the participating students.
