Shopian: Taimeer Bluecaps Cricket Club unveiled its new team jersey at a ceremony held at Town Hall, Shopian, with local MLA Shabir Ahmad Kullay unveiling the jersey.
The ceremony was attended by the club’s sponsors, including Majid Manzoor, Mohammad Hussain Zargar and Mukhtar, along with team members, supporters and several media persons who joined the event.
Speaking on the occasion, guest Sheikh Hilal praised the club for its professional approach and commitment to promoting cricket in the district. He described Taimeer Bluecaps as “the only professional club in District Shopian that is professionally carrying out its work,” while appreciating the dedication of club owner Raja Ishfaq Lateef.
Sheikh Hilal also anchored part of the ceremony alongside team captain Noman Ishaq.
During the event, an important appeal was also raised to the sponsors to extend their support towards girls’ cricket teams in Shopian, encouraging greater participation and opportunities for young female cricketers in the district.
The jersey launch marks another step in Taimeer Bluecaps’ efforts to promote organised, professional and inclusive cricket in Shopian.
