Convener News Desk

Bandipora, Sep 10: Despite the much-publicised announcements made by the NC Government nearly two months ago regarding the approval and accord of the much-awaited Sumbal Bridge the project continues to remain a distant dream for the people of Sumbal.

Aga syed Sajad Hussain Peoples Democratic Party District President Bandipora issues Statement He said that It is deeply unfortunate that the sentiments and hopes of the people are being repeatedly played with through announcements that fail to translate into action on the ground. The people of Sumbal have every right to ask: If the project has genuinely been approved and the necessary accord has been issued, what is preventing the government from floating the tender and initiating its execution?

We have approached the District Administration as well as the Chief Engineer, R&B,seeking clear answers, but our questions remain unanswered. The people of Sumbal have shown remarkable patience since 2014, waiting for this vital project, but their patience cannot be taken for granted indefinitely.

The Deputy Chief Minister and MLA must understand that public trust cannot be sustained through publicity and repeated assurances alone. People need action, transparency and accountability, not political announcements.

If the government continues to maintain a calculated silence and fails to provide a clear timeline for the tendering and execution of the Sumbal Bridge, the people will be left with no option but to come onto the streets and launch a democratic protest to safeguard their legitimate demand.

The people of Sumbal are patient and peace-loving, but they are equally conscious of their rights. Their patience should not be mistaken for weakness.
