Landslide Damages Reporter’s Residence; SJA Seeks Relief

Tehsildar Sumbal assures immediate assistance, rehabilitation under prescribed norms

Bandipora, July 21: A delegation of the Sonawari Journalists Association on Tuesday met Tehsildar Sumbal, Syed Shabr, and urged the administration to provide immediate relief and rehabilitation assistance to DB Live Reporter Shafik Sumbali, whose residential shed was extensively damaged in a rain-triggered landslide at Hilal Abad, Nesbal Yesterday.

The delegation apprised the Tehsildar of the difficulties being faced by the affected family after the landslide rendered their shelter unsafe for habitation. They requested the administration to provide immediate relief, including temporary shelter and assistance under the applicable disaster relief norms.

Tehsildar Sumbal assured the delegation that the administration would extend every possible support to the affected family. He said essential relief, including tents, blankets and other necessary assistance, would be provided without delay. He further assured that the process for rehabilitation would be initiated promptly in accordance with the prescribed norms.

The Sonawari Journalists Association expressed gratitude for the Tehsildar’s assurance and hoped that the administration would act swiftly to ensure timely relief and rehabilitation for the affected family.
