Bandipora Welcomes Amarnath Yatris with Warmth as They Embark on the Holy Journey

Bandipora, July 02: The first batch of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026 pilgrims received a warm, traditional welcome at the Shadipora Transit Camp on Thursday, as Dr. Vinod Kumar, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir Range; Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib; and Senior Superintendent of Police, Ajaz Ahmad Zargar, greeted the yatris with flowers and good wishes for a safe and spiritually fulfilling journey. The officers interacted with pilgrims, enquired about their well-being, and reaffirmed the District Administration’s commitment to a comfortable, hassle-free pilgrimage.
Ahead of the reception, the DC and SSP carried out a detailed inspection of camp arrangements, reviewing accommodation, sanitation, drinking water, healthcare, electricity, traffic management, and security deployment. Expressing satisfaction with the preparations made by the District Administration, Police, and line departments, they directed all stakeholders to maintain close coordination, respond promptly to requirements, and ensure uninterrupted services through the Yatra period, upholding the highest standards of hospitality and security.
Pilgrims spoke positively of the facilities and thanked the administration and police for their efforts. DC Indu Kanwal Chib reiterated the district’s resolve to ensure the safety, comfort and well-being of yatris through efficient service delivery and inter-departmental coordination.
