Two-Day MedLEaPR Training Programme for Doctors, Police Personnel Concludes in Bandipora

Bandipora, June 25: A two-day training programme on the Medico-Legal Examination and Post-Mortem Reporting System (MedLEaPR) for doctors and police personnel organised by Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, concluded on Thursday.

Dr Bajan Kour said the programme has been organised by Health Department in coordination with the State Nodal Officer (MedLEaPR) to strengthen coordination between the Health and Police Departments and enhance the implementation of the MedLEaPR platform for medico-legal examination and post-mortem reporting across the district.

Doctors and police personnel from Bandipora, Gurez and Sonawari Sub Divisions participated in the training sessions, held at Conference Hall DPL Bandipora CHC Hajin and SDH Gurez where they were briefed on the operational framework, functionalities and practical applications of the digital platform.

The training was attended by Consultants, Medical Officers and Investigation Officers (IOs) from various police stations and healthcare institutions.

The active participation of officers from both departments reflected the importance of interdepartmental collaboration in ensuring timely and accurate documentation of medico-legal and post-mortem cases through the portal.

 

Dr. Nabeel, District Nodal Officer, MedLEaPR highlighted the significance of the MedLEaPR Portal in streamlining medico-legal documentation and facilitating coordination between healthcare institutions and law enforcement agencies.
Dr. Azia, State Nodal Officer (MedLEaPR), delivered a detailed presentation on the MedLEaPR Portal.

During his presentation, he provided an overview of the objectives, functionalities, and operational workflow of the portal. He explained the procedures for registration, case entry, data management, report generation, and tracking of Medico-Legal Cases (MLCs) and Post-Mortem Cases (PMCs).

The participants were also briefed about the latest updates and mandatory requirements related to portal usage.
Dr. Azia SNO-MedLEaPR stressed the importance of maintaining accuracy, completeness, and timeliness while entering data on the portal.

He informed the participants that all MLC and PMC cases must be processed and completed through the MedLEaPR Portal without exception.

Dr. Azia further emphasized that the portal is being closely monitored at both the Central and State levels, and therefore any delay, incomplete entry, or non-compliance would be viewed seriously.

Participants were advised to ensure regular updating of case information and adherence to the prescribed timelines.

The training also focused on the roles and responsibilities of Medical Officers, Investigation Officers, and other concerned officials in the successful implementation of the portal.
Special emphasis was laid on coordination between health institutions and police authorities to ensure seamless information sharing and timely completion of medico-legal formalities.

Practical demonstrations and case-based discussions were conducted to familiarize participants with various aspects of portal operation and troubleshooting.

An interactive session was also held during each sessions in which participants actively raised queries regarding portal functionality, case processing procedures, documentation requirements, and technical issues encountered during implementation.
Experts addressed all concerns in detail and provided necessary clarifications and guidance. The interactive discussion helped participants gain a clearer understanding of their responsibilities and the operational aspects of the MedLEaPR Portal.

The participants appreciated the training programme and acknowledged its usefulness in enhancing their knowledge and skills related to medico-legal case management.
