Awantipora, June 20: As part of the comprehensive security arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)–2026, Awantipora Police today conducted a mock drill on the Yatra route at Lehpora to assess preparedness and strengthen emergency response mechanisms.
The exercise involved simulation of various contingency scenarios to evaluate the efficiency of security personnel and the coordination among different agencies deployed for Yatra duties. The mock drill was aimed at testing response time, evacuation procedures, communication systems, and overall operational readiness.
Senior police officers supervised the exercise and reviewed the preparedness of the personnel. They emphasized the importance of maintaining a high level of alertness and coordination to ensure the safe, secure, and smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
