Awantipora, June 18: In order to ensure transparency and safeguard consumer interests, a joint inspection of petrol pumps operating within the jurisdiction of Police Station Khrew was conducted today in coordination with the Metrology Department.
The inspection was carried out under the supervision of SDPO Pampore R.P Singh and SHO Khrew Naieem Rashid. During the drive, fuel dispensing units and measurement standards were thoroughly checked to verify compliance with prescribed norms and regulations.
The joint team inspected the accuracy of fuel delivery systems and emphasized strict adherence to legal metrology standards. The initiative was aimed at preventing any malpractice, ensuring fair trade practices, and protecting consumers from possible discrepancies in fuel measurements.
Police and Metrology Department officials reiterated their commitment to conducting such inspections regularly to maintain transparency and uphold consumer rights.
