Youth Innovation Foundation Organises Menstrual Awareness Programme at GMS Kalaroos

Kupwara, June 16: Youth Innovation Foundation organised a menstrual awareness programme at Government Middle School Kalaroos aimed at creating awareness among students about menstrual health, hygiene and the importance of proper menstrual hygiene management.

In an official statement issued to Kashmir Convener, the Foundation said that the awareness session was conducted by certified menstrual educator Sidrat Mehraj, who sensitised students about menstrual health, hygiene practices and the need to dispel myths and misconceptions associated with menstruation.

The Foundation said that students actively participated in the programme and showed keen interest in learning about personal hygiene, health awareness and self-care. The interactive session provided a comfortable platform for students to discuss and better understand issues related to menstrual health.

During the programme, Menstrupedia comic books were distributed among the participants to provide simple, informative and age-appropriate knowledge about menstruation and menstrual hygiene.

The Foundation said the initiative was aimed at empowering young girls with accurate information and promoting awareness, confidence and a stigma-free approach towards menstrual health.

Youth Innovation Foundation reiterated its commitment to promoting health awareness, education and youth empowerment through community-based initiatives across Kashmir.
