Kupwara, June 15: Youth Innovation Foundation organised a menstrual health awareness workshop at Government Boys Middle School Sulkot in Kupwara district to educate adolescent girls about menstrual hygiene, reproductive health and the importance of breaking social stigma associated with menstruation.
An official spokesperson, while talking to Kashmir Convener, said that the workshop was conducted by Sidrat Mehraj, a certified menstrual educator, who provided detailed information on menstrual health, hygiene management and the physical and emotional changes experienced during adolescence.
The spokesperson said the session was interactive in nature and encouraged participants to openly discuss their concerns and seek guidance on issues related to menstrual health.
As part of the awareness programme, Menstrupedia comics were distributed among the participants to enhance their understanding of menstruation through informative and engaging educational material.
The participants actively took part in the discussions and appreciated the opportunity to learn about menstrual hygiene and reproductive health in a supportive environment, the spokesperson added.
The Youth Innovation Foundation expressed gratitude to the administration and staff of Government Boys Middle School Sulkot for their cooperation in successfully organising the programme.
