Amir Shafi Rather Elected NGFOA District President for Bandipora Forest Division

Bandipora, June 1: Amir Shafi Rather was elected as the District President of the Non-Gazetted Forest Officers Association (NGFOA), Bandipora Forest Division, following elections held among employees of the Forest Department on Monday.

An official spokesperson said the election witnessed participation from employees representing various ranges and offices across the Bandipora Forest Division. According to officials associated with the election process, the polling reflected active involvement of employees in selecting their representative leadership within the association.

Following the announcement of the results, Rather thanked the employees for their support and confidence.

Addressing members of the association, he said the mandate reflected the collective aspirations of employees serving in different capacities across the department.

Rather stated that the victory belonged to all categories of employees, including Forest Guards, Foresters, Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS), Block Officers and Range Officers, who continue to perform their duties in different parts of the division.

Calling for unity among employees, the newly elected district president said that with the election process now concluded, the focus should shift towards addressing employee welfare and strengthening representation within the department.

He emphasized the need for collective efforts to work for the welfare, dignity and professional interests of all employees, irrespective of individual affiliations.

“This victory is not mine alone; it is the victory of unity, trust and the collective aspirations of forest employees. Your trust is my responsibility, and I shall strive to uphold it with honesty, dedication and accountability,” Rather said.

Employees from different ranges and offices of the Bandipora Forest Division congratulated the newly elected president following the declaration of results. Several employees expressed hope that the new leadership would effectively represent their concerns and work towards resolving issues affecting the workforce.

The NGFOA serves as a representative body for non-gazetted employees of the Forest Department and engages with departmental authorities on matters relating to employee welfare, service conditions and professional concerns. The latest election is expected to shape the association’s agenda in Bandipora Forest Division for the coming term.
