Pulwama Police Arrest Two Drug Peddlers; Contraband Recovered, Case Registered

PULWAMA, May 25: Continuing its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking under the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign, Pulwama Police achieved a major success by recovering a significant quantity of heroin-like substance and arresting two drug peddlers in the district.

During naka checking established at Parigam Khalsa, a scooty bearing registration No. JK13H-6074 coming from Lerve towards Parigam was intercepted by Police Post Parigam. Two persons travelling on the vehicle were apprehended and identified as Mohd Aslam Malik son of Mohd Yousuf Malik, resident of Hanji Mohallah Bongam Kakapora and Nasir Ahmad Dar son of Mohd Shafi Dar, resident of New Colony Kakapora. During search, approximately 273 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from their possession. The accused were immediately taken into custody and the contraband substance was seized on the spot.

Accordingly, FIR No. 99/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama and investigation has been taken up to ascertain forward and backward linkages involved in the narcotics network.

Pulwama Police reiterates its firm commitment to eradicate the drug menace from society and appeals to the public to continue supporting Police by sharing any information related to drug trafficking or substance abuse.
