Massive Turnout at SK Stadium Bandipora Ahead of LG Manoj Sinha-Led Padyatra

Bandipora, May 25: A large number of people have turned up at SK Stadium Bandipora to participate in the Padyatra that will be led by LG Manoj Sinha under J&K Nasha Mukht Abhiyan.

Since early morning despite heavy showers and gusty winds, large ques were witnessed outside the stadium that has been decorated with garlands and tri colors.

People from different walks of life, including men, women, children, and school students, turned up in large numbers to take part in the programme. The Lieutenant Governor is expected to reach the venue around 11 AM.

Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Indu Kanwal Chib said all arrangements have been put in place while foolproof security has been ensured for the peaceful conduct of the march.

Earlier, on Sunday evening she appealed to the people of the district to participate in the Mega Padyatra being organized under the ongoing 100 Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan.

The DC informed that the Mega Padyatra in Bandipora district will be conducted on 25 May 2026 ( Monday) starting from S.K Stadium Bandipora and culminating at Ajar Chowk.

“Todays’ Mega Padyatra is not merely an event, but a collective pledge of the people of Bandipora against drug abuse. Every citizen’s participation will strengthen this mission and send a strong message that society stands united for a Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir,” the DC said.

Appealing to the people of Bandipora district, including youth, students, civil society members, traders, religious leaders, PRIs, government employees and the general public, the DC urged them to participate in large numbers.

LG launched the 100 Day Nasha Mukt Abhiyan across Jammu and Kashmir from April 11, 2026, with the objective of intensifying the fight against drug abuse and taking the message of a drug-free society to every household.
