PS Tral Apprehends Drug Peddler during Naka Checking; Contraband Recovered

Awantipora, May 23: Continuing its sustained efforts under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan against drug trafficking, Police apprehended a drug peddler during naka checking at Bathnoor–Nagdi Crossing.

A police party of Police Station Tral headed by SHO PS Tral, Inspector Tajamul Islam intercepted a suspicious person identified as Tariq Ahmad Khandey son of Mohammad Rajab Khandey, resident of Bathnoor Tral, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.

During his search, charas like substance weighing 75 grams and grinded cannabis weighing around 460 grams were recovered from his possession.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 63/2026 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Tral and further investigation has been taken up.

Police remain committed towards eradicating the menace of drugs and urge the general public to cooperate by sharing any information related to narcotics activities in their areas.
