Jammu Admin Demolishes Two Properties in Miran Sahib; Police Link Owners to Drug Trade

Convener News Desk

Jammu, May 23: Authorities demolished two expensive residential properties in the Indra Nagar area of Miran Sahib in Jammu on Saturday amid massive security deployment, with police claiming the houses were constructed through proceeds generated from drug trafficking.

The demolition operation was carried out in the area falling under the jurisdiction of RS Pora Police and witnessed the presence of heavy police and civil administration personnel.

Police said the properties belonged to persons accused in drug peddling cases and alleged that the houses had been built through the illegal drug trade.

Officials said the structures were razed to the ground as part of an anti-drug crackdown.

The action triggered distress among affected families, who questioned the demolition and raised objections over ownership claims.

Family members of one of the accused, identified as Babloo, said he had no connection with the demolished house, maintaining that the property belonged to his father.

“You cannot punish the father for the deeds of his son,” family members said while protesting the action.

According to the family, the accused are already lodged in jail and the demolished property was not owned by Babloo.

The demolition drew public attention in the area as security personnel remained deployed during the operation to prevent any law and order disturbance. [KNT]
