Army Cheetah Helicopter Crashes Near Tangtse in Leh; Senior Officers Injured, Stable

Leh, May 21: An Army Cheetah helicopter crashed in the Tangtse region near Leh on Wednesday, leaving three Army officers, including General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division, Major General Sachin Mehta, injured.

Officials said all the occupants survived the crash and are currently under medical care. Major General Sachin Mehta reportedly sustained minor injuries, while the pilots suffered comparatively serious injuries. However, all the injured officers are stated to be stable and recovering.

The helicopter was reportedly involved in an accident during operations in the high-altitude region. Army and rescue teams immediately rushed to the spot and launched evacuation and assistance measures.
