YSA Bandipora Clinches 14 Medals in Rope Skipping Gold Cup Jammu 2026

Bandipora,19, May: The athletes of Yameen Sports Academy and the International Educational Institute, Braripora Payeen Bonakoot, created history for Bandipora by securing an impressive 8th position at the Rope Skipping Inter School Gold Cup Jammu 2026 held at J.P World School on May 12 and 13.

Competing against nearly 40 schools from different regions, the young athletes delivered an outstanding performance and won 14 medals out of 22 participating students, bringing pride and recognition to the district.

The Gold Medals were secured by Moazima Tariq and Ayat-un-Nisa, while Toufeeq Hussain, Lone Arsalan, Faizan Irshad, Amina Fareed, Sheikh Faida, and Sahil Sadiq won Silver Medals. Bronze Medals were bagged by Hashmatullah Wani, Imad Ahmad Mir, Iqra Iqbal, Aariz Imtiyaz, Faizan Ahmad Chopan, and Suhaib Hameed.

The achievement has been widely appreciated by people across the district, who praised the dedication, discipline, and hard work of the students and their coaches.

Speaking on the occasion, student athlete Moazima Tariq expressed happiness over the achievement and said the victory was the result of months of hard work and regular practice.

“We worked very hard for this championship and stayed focused during training sessions. Winning a Gold Medal and representing Bandipora at such a level feels like a proud moment for me and my family,” she said.

Another student athlete, Toufeeq Hussain, said the experience of competing with students from different regions helped them gain confidence and motivation for future events.

“We are thankful to our coaches and academy management for supporting and guiding us at every step. This achievement has encouraged us to work even harder in the future,” he added.

Meanwhile, Muzaffar Ahmad, Uttam Bharat Puraskar Awardee and Founder of Yameen Sports Academy, congratulated all the students for their remarkable performance and said the academy is committed to promoting sports talent in rural areas of Kashmir.

“This achievement belongs to every student, coach, and parent who believed in the vision of the academy. Our aim is to provide proper training and opportunities to young athletes so they can compete at national and international levels,” Muzaffar Ahmad said.

He further said that the success of the students proves that the youth of Bandipora possess immense talent and only need proper guidance and support to shine.

Special appreciation was also extended to Ibrahim Bhat for his continuous coaching, dedication, and commitment towards training the students professionally.

The management also thanked the school staff, especially Mr. Danish Monawar, for his support and encouragement throughout the championship.

The success of the academy has generated excitement and hope among sports lovers in Bandipora, with many considering it a positive step towards the growth of sports culture in the district.

“This is just the beginning. Bandipora is rising, and champions are being made,” members of the academy said while celebrating the achievement.
