DG Assam Rifles Visits Wular Battalion at Paribal

Bandipora, May 12:  V Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General Assam Rifles on Tuesday visited the Wular Battalion of Assam Rifles at Paribal in Jammu and Kashmir and reviewed the battalion’s operational preparedness and security-related activities.

According to officials, Lt Gen Lakhera, who serves as Director General of Assam Rifles, was briefed by the Battalion Commandant on the prevailing security environment, operational readiness and various ongoing initiatives being undertaken by the unit.

During the visit, the Director General interacted with officers and troops and reviewed arrangements related to operational preparedness in the area.

Officials said he also visited the Battalion Drone Lab and the Malangam Company Operating Base (COB), where he reviewed technological and operational capabilities being utilised by the battalion.

The Director General appreciated the personnel for their professionalism, operational preparedness and role in maintaining security in the region, officials added.

The visit formed part of routine operational and administrative reviews conducted by senior Assam Rifles leadership in areas of deployment.
