Bandipora, May 7: As part of the ongoing “100 Days Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan”, the Drugs Control Department Bandipora on Thursday carried out inspections of several medical shops in the Ahemsharif and Ajar areas to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
During the inspection drive, officials identified an unlicensed medical shop operating at Ajar. The shop, allegedly run by Manzoor Ahad Sofi, son of Gh. Mohd Sofi and resident of Ayatmulla, was sealed on the spot for operating without a valid licence. A notice was also pasted on the shutter of the establishment, informing the public about the action taken by the department.

Officials said the action was part of the administration’s intensified campaign against the illegal sale and misuse of medicines across the district. They added that further investigation into the matter has been initiated.

The department reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against violations and warned that strict action would continue against unauthorized medical establishments.
