Srinagar, May 01: The Jammu and Kashmir Youth National Conference (YNC) District President Srinagar, Irshad Ahmad Anchari, has called upon the YNC district cadre to ensure that the governance and welfare initiatives of the Omar Abdullah-led elected government reach every household at the grassroots level.

Chairing a meeting of the District Youth Body at the party headquarters, Nawa-e-Subha, Anchari said the Omar Abdullah-led government has restored a semblance of good governance in the region, with its benefits now reaching the last mile. He highlighted key welfare measures including additional ration quota, free transport for women, and enhanced electricity units for consumers.

Welcoming the passage of the Private Universities Bill by the government, he said the initiative would significantly strengthen access to quality higher education within the region. “Gone are the days when our youth were compelled to travel to distant states and countries for higher education. The present led by Omar sahib has initiated reforms that will bring education to their doorstep, thereby saving resources and curbing brain drain,” he said.

Anchari further stated that the government is actively working to transition youth from job-seekers to job-creators through entrepreneurship support, skill development, educational expansion, and targeted employment programmes under initiatives such as Mission Skill and the YUVA Mission. He said these efforts are aimed at empowering young people socially and economically.

The meeting also held detailed discussions on organisational matters and strategies to strengthen the ongoing public outreach of YNC district body.

Anchari patiently listened to suggestions and inputs from district body members and office bearers and assured that their feedback would be taken on board in future planning.

He urged the cadre to maintain continuous engagement with youth and ensure that the party’s vision and mission reach every household effectively.

On the occasion, the youth body, led by Irshad Ahmad Anchari, expressed condolences and offered prayers for the departed soul of the mother of YNC District Srinagar member Harmeet Singh Sodhi, extending solidarity with the bereaved family. Fatiha was also offered for the deceased mother of MLA Zainapora Showkat Hussain Ganaie and the father of Additional Spokesperson Abrar Hameed.
Among those present were Vice Presidents Abrar Misgar and Sarvar Rasool, Secretary Salman Gulzar, Publicity Secretary Danish Iqbal, Youth Outreach Coordinator Asif Kaniu, Organizer Suhail Mir, and Executive Members Sarvar Baba and Ashiq Hussain, among others.
