IUST Awantipora Hosts Voluntary Blood Donation Camp; 104 Units Collected, VC Applauds Donors

Awantipora, April 27: A voluntary blood donation camp was organized today at the University Health Centre of the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) in collaboration with Govt. Lal Ded Hospital, Srinagar

The camp inaugurated by Prof. Shakil A. Romshoo, Vice Chancellor, was coordinated by Dr. Zahida Rasool, Medical Officer, University Health Centre.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and to encourage active participation among students and staff members of the University.

A total of 104 units of blood were donated during the camp. The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from both male and female students, as well as teaching and non-teaching staff, with a notably higher turnout from non-teaching employees.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo lauded the initiative and appreciated the donors for their noble contribution. He stated that such humanitarian efforts is part of the University’s commitment to social responsibility and urged more people to come forward and donate blood regularly to help save lives.
