Awantipora, April 27: Continuing its efforts under the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan, Police District Awantipora carried out multiple anti drug initiatives across the Police district.
Police Station Khrew conducted a special drive against illicit poppy cultivation at multiple locations within its jurisdiction. The illegal crop was destroyed on the spot by a joint team of Police, Revenue, and Agriculture Departments. FIRs have been registered
Similarly, a poppy destruction drive was carried out at Barsoo, Awantipora by a joint team from Police Station Awantipora, Revenue, and Agriculture Departments.
Drug awareness programme was conducted by Police Post Aripal, at Government Higher Secondary School Satoora under the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan. Students and staff were sensitized about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of staying away from narcotics.
Another awareness programme was organized at Alchemy Public School Tral, by Police Station Tral where participants were educated about the social and health impacts of substance abuse.
Additionally, Police Station Awantipora, conducted an awareness programme at Bargam and Chersoo to engage the local community and spread awareness regarding the drug menace.
Police have reiterated their commitment to eradicating the drug menace and have urged the general public to cooperate and share information regarding any illegal drug related activities.
