Budgam Police Recover 2.7 Kg Contraband from Residential House; Accused Apprehended

Budgam, April 24: Continuing its sustained drive against drug peddlers under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Budgam Police acted on credible information regarding illegal possession of narcotic substances intended for sale to local youth at a residence in the Choudhary Bagh Subden area of Budgam.

Acting promptly, a police party from Police Post Soibugh conducted a search operation at the specified location in the presence of independent witnesses. During the search, approximately 2.713 kilograms of charas (powder-like substance) was recovered from the residential premises.

The accused has been identified as Hilal Ahmad Sheikh, son of Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Choudhary Bagh Subden, Budgam. He was apprehended on the spot. Accordingly, FIR No. 98/2026 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Budgam, and further investigation is underway.

Budgam Police reiterates its firm commitment to eradicating the menace of drugs from society and urges the general public to cooperate and share any information related to drug peddling.
