Awantipora, April 22: Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Police Awantipora intensified enforcement activities across the Police district.
Police Station Khrew conducted a drive to check chemist shops in its jurisdiction to ensure compliance with regulations governing the sale of medicines and tobacco products.
During the drive, enforcement action was also taken against violators of tobacco control laws. Several individuals were fined under the provisions of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) for offences such as smoking in public places.
These actions form part of the sustained efforts of Police to curb drug abuse and enforce laws aimed at safeguarding public health.
Police Awantipora reiterates its commitment to maintaining law and order and combating the drug menace, while urging the public to actively support the initiative by adhering to the law and sharing information related to drug activities.
