DC urges students to focus on Hardwork, Consistency

ANANTNAG, APRIL 13: Aimed to guide students for various competitive examinations, Exceptional Academy in collaboration with Government Degree College for Women, Anantnag today organised a one-day career counseling cum motivation programme at the college auditorium.

The program essentially focused on motivating students for competitive examinations like IAS, JKAS, NEET, etc. and to encourage them to make informed, mature and pragmatic career choices.

The function was graced by Deputy Commissioner (DC), Dr. Bilal Mohud Din Bhat as the Chief Guest and was attended by Muneeb Afzal (UPSC 2025-26 Qualifier); Principal, Professor, Dr. Khalida Hassan, faculty and students of the college, aspirants of the nearby places, besides the representatives and faculty of the Exceptional Academy.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC highlighted the importance of quality education, dedication, and proper guidance to achieve success in competitive exams. He encouraged students to remain focused and make the best use of such training and motivation sessions.

Crediting hardwork and consistency as key ingredients for success, Dr. Bilal urged students and aspirants to stay focused during their study and preparation phases besides aligning career choices in tune with individual abilities and need of the society. He advised them to participate in such expert guidance and interactive sessions in routine and strategise their examination and career planning accordingly.

To motivate the students, the DC delivered a detailed lecture on his personal career, outlining the key preparation methods as well the sources and study material including NCERT textbooks, newspapers and digital platforms. He emphasized that the aspirants should adopt a step by step approach while keeping their goals and career options in sight. He also addressed a few queries raised by the aspirants regarding timing to pursue competitive examinations, general difficulties in preparation and the ways to take those in an efficient manner. The youth can leverage technology and digital platforms not only for competitive examinations but also to boost their knowledge and soft skills as demanded by modern times, he noted.

Outlining the employment choices, the DC said there are a diverse range of fields including medicine, education, science and technology, civil services, engineering, arts, sports, among others, which can be opted by the students keeping in consideration their true abilities and interest. “Aspirants should pursue their dreams in a realistic manner, avoiding irrational race for a particular job”, he remarked. He said that failures are part and parcel of competitive examinations and aspirants should never feel depressed and demotivated, however, other plans be always kept in line.

Dr. Bilal further advocated to inculcate an enterpreneurial spirit among the youth and called upon them to avail benefits of various self employment government schemes, assuring proper support and facilitation by the administration in promoting self employment in the district.

The Principal in her address asked the students to make best use of such programs and focus on studies and other positive activities for a better and prosperous tomorrow.

Interacting with the students and aspirants, Muneeb Afzal shared his preparation strategy and motivated the students to have a positive and patient approach to pursue such prestigious examinations.

Faculty members of the college and the academy also shared valuable insights on exam preparation, time management, and subject-specific techniques.

The initiative was widely appreciated by students and faculty members, who lauded the authorities and Exceptional Academy for organising such an informative and motivational programme, encouraging them to stay committed to the academic and career goals.
