Awantipora, April 07: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drug abuse, Police Awantipora apprehending a drug peddler during routine naka checking at Mirzapur K.Koot, a naka party of Police Post Toll Plaza, headed by IC PP Toll Plaza SI Ishfaq Ahmad, intercepted and apprehended one individual identified as Shahid Nazir Dar son of Nazir Ahmad Dar, resident of Pujteng K.Koot.
Upon search, a charas-like substance weighing approximately 156 grams was recovered from his possession. The accused was immediately taken into custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 83/2026 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Awantipora, and further investigation has been set into motion.
Police have reiterated their commitment to take strict action against individuals involved in drug peddling and urged the general public to cooperate and share any information related to drug abuse or trafficking.
