Bandipora, April 06: Advocate Nazir Malik, National Conference leader and Constituency In-Charge Bandipora, has appreciated Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the Education Minister for the passage of the Jammu and Kashmir Private Universities Bill, 2026.
In a statement issued to Kashmir Convener, Advocate Malik termed the move as bold, visionary and long overdue, stating that the legislation will transform the educational landscape of the Union Territory by attracting quality institutions, boosting investment, generating employment opportunities and reducing the migration of students outside Jammu and Kashmir for higher education.
Malik said the reform reflects a clear commitment towards empowering youth and building a knowledge-driven economy in the region.
“This landmark legislation marks the beginning of a new era for Jammu and Kashmir’s youth, ensuring opportunities, growth and self-reliance within our own region,” he added.
