45 BN CRPF’s Hosts Civic Action Programme on Digital Education to support underprivileged Youth in Sumbal Sonawari

Bandipora, April 01: Under its Civic Action Programme, the 45 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Sumbal on Wednesday commenced the 3rd and 4th batches of a one-month Computer Training Programme aimed at promoting skill development among students from economically weaker sections of the Sonawari area in Bandipora district.

The programme was inaugurated by Commanding Officer of 45 BN CRPF Sumbal, Apoorvan. Assistant Commandant Vijay and other CRPF officials were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, the 1st and 2nd batches of the training programme were successfully completed, receiving a positive response from participants and the local community.

A total of 80 students from Ajas and Hajin are currently undergoing the training. The participants include boys and girls from both areas, reflecting a strong and inclusive response, particularly encouraging the participation of young girls.

The programme focuses on imparting basic computer knowledge and developing essential digital skills among local youth. Special emphasis is being laid on empowering young girls by enhancing their technical capabilities and boosting their confidence.

The initiative aims to improve employability among participants, enabling them to become self-reliant and access better job opportunities in the future.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the function, Commanding Officer Apoorvan said that the 3rd and 4th batches have been started to benefit students from Hajin, Sumbal, and adjoining areas. He said the free computer course has been introduced specifically to support Below Poverty Line (BPL) students and equip them with essential digital skills required in today’s competitive world.

He added that the initiative is part of CRPF’s continued efforts to contribute to the social and educational upliftment of local communities. “Such programmes play a vital role in empowering youth and opening new avenues for their future,” he said.

He further assured that more welfare and skill development initiatives will be launched in the coming days under the Civic Action Programme. He emphasized that the CRPF remains committed to supporting poor students and contributing to the overall betterment of society through sustained and meaningful efforts.

Meanwhile, a female participant, Nusrat Afzal from Gundi Boon, expressed her gratitude and said that the training programme has provided her with a valuable opportunity to learn computer skills, which will help her in her studies as well as future career. She said the course has boosted her confidence and motivated her to aim higher.

She added that all arrangements made for the students were well-organized and comfortable. “We are very thankful to CRPF 45 BN Sumbal for providing us this opportunity and supporting us in building a better future,” she said.
