Jammu, March 27: Manoj Sinha on Friday interacted with a group of students from Army Goodwill School (AGS), Saujiyan in Poonch district, who are visiting Jammu under the J&K Integration Tour organised by the Indian Army as part of Operation Sadbhavana.

The tour has been organised under the outreach programme of the White Knight Corps and is aimed at fostering national integration and the holistic development of children from remote border areas.

During the interaction, the Lieutenant Governor lauded the Army’s efforts towards the welfare and development of youth in border regions. He said such initiatives play a role in nurturing young minds and strengthening the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.

The visiting contingent comprised 33 students accompanied by teachers and Army personnel. The students shared their experiences from the tour with the Lieutenant Governor.

Officials said the primary objective of the integration tour is to provide exposure to children from border villages and broaden their understanding of the country’s cultural, social and institutional framework, while fostering confidence and a sense of belonging.

The itinerary included visits to Poonch, Rajouri, Jammu and Srinagar, where students were introduced to different institutions and environments.

The tour also included rail travel to Srinagar and visits to urban establishments such as shopping complexes and the Air Force Station in Jammu, along with exposure to the Army’s functioning.
