Bandipora, March 25: The 45 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Tuesday concluded a one-month tailoring and stitching skill development course for women at Bahrabad in Hajin area of Bandipora district under the Civic Action Programme 2025–26.
The training programme, which commenced on February 23, saw participation from 50 girls and women, mostly from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families of nearby villages, officials said.
According to CRPF officials, the initiative was aimed at providing practical skills to participants to support self-employment opportunities and enhance their livelihood prospects.
The course focused on basic tailoring and stitching techniques.
Officials said the participants attended regular training sessions and completed the programme over a period of one month. The course concluded on March 25 with all trainees completing the programme.
The programme was organised as part of the CRPF’s civic action initiatives aimed at engaging with local communities and promoting skill development among women in the region.
Officials said such programmes are intended to provide training opportunities to individuals from economically weaker sections and help them explore avenues for income generation.
The initiative also served as a community outreach activity, facilitating interaction between the force and local residents, officials added.
Participants said the training helped them acquire new skills and would assist them in exploring self-employment opportunities in their respective areas.
CRPF officials said similar programmes will continue to be organised in the future under the Civic Action Programme to support community welfare and skill development.
