Awantipora, March 24: Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs, Police in Awantipora achieved a major success by arresting one drug peddler and recovering contraband substances from his possession.
During naka checking at Khrew Pampore, a police party headed by SHO Khrew Inspector Naieem Rashid apprehended one person who was found roaming under suspicious circumstances.
The apprehended person has been identified as Shahid Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad Wani, resident of Seer Colony Khrew.
During his personal search 1.115 Kgms of Charas Powder like substance was recovered.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 24/2026 under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Khrew.
Police Awantipora is committed to curbing the menace of drugs and ensuring a drug-free society.
