Bandipora, Feb 23: The Road Safety Club of HKM College Bandipora on Monday organised an awareness drive on campus to sensitise students about traffic regulations, responsible driving and pedestrian safety.

Principal Prof Suresh Kumar Dogra, addressing the session, flagged concerns over the rising number of road accidents and stressed strict adherence to traffic rules. He urged students to adopt responsible behaviour on roads and contribute to building a culture of safety and civic responsibility.

The club’s convener, Dr Mubashir Hamid Mir, along with other members, outlined the objectives of the Road Safety Club and informed students about a series of awareness programmes planned before March 31 as part of its action plan.

Students participated in interactive discussions during the event, organisers said. Dr G M Khan served as rapporteur.

Road safety campaigns are periodically conducted in educational institutions across the district as part of efforts to reduce accident-related fatalities and promote traffic discipline among youth.
