Kashmiri Entrepreneur Hands Over Toss Coin at Afghanistan–UAE T20 World Cup Match Today

In a first for a Kashmiri business house, a Srinagar-based entrepreneur handed over the toss coin at a match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup between Afghanistan national cricket team and United Arab Emirates national cricket team on Monday.

Omar Beigh, Managing Director of Arise Hyundai, has been selected for the ceremonial honour under a corporate recognition initiative by Hyundai Motor India, company officials informed Kashmir Convener.

In a social media post, the company described the occasion as “a proud milestone,” stating that Beigh would hand over the toss coin to the captains ahead of the high-profile T20 World Cup fixture on February 16, 2026.

Beigh Handed over the coin to Afghanistan Captain Rashid Khan, who tossed it and won the toss on Monday morning.

Hyundai Motor Company is a premier global partner of the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the 2026–2027 cycle, covering six major tournaments including the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Officials said this partnership features exclusive in-stadium branding, matchday activations (e.g., coin toss), and digital fan engagements to connect with cricket audiences globally.

Officials termed the development a significant recognition of the dealership’s long-standing association with the automaker, aligning with shared values of excellence and performance.

The event marks a rare moment of visibility for enterprise from Jammu and Kashmir on an international sporting platform. Sports observers noted that Beigh’s participation in the ICC event symbolises growing recognition of local businesses on the international platform and will send a positive message across the country about the economic growth and potential of  Kashmiri youth in driving India to Prime Ministers’ Viksit Bharat dream.
