Nagrota, Feb 14: In a landmark development in its academic journey, Sainik School Nagrota on Friday formally institutionalised its Annual Academic Trophy, marking a significant step towards strengthening scholastic excellence among cadets.

The trophy was presented to the school by Lieutenant General P. K. Mishra, General Officer Commanding of the White Knight Corps. Instituted as an annual rolling trophy, it will be awarded each year to the House securing the highest overall academic average.

On arrival, the General Officer was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by the cadets. Addressing them, he emphasised that academic excellence forms the bedrock of character and leadership. He urged cadets to pursue excellence with humility, uphold integrity in thought and action, and remember that true leadership is built on knowledge, discipline and moral courage.

For the academic year 2025–26, Chenab House created history by becoming the first recipient of the Academic Trophy, while Jhelum House secured the runner-up position.

Officials said the institutionalisation of the trophy marks the beginning of an enduring tradition aimed at fostering healthy competition, strengthening academic rigour and inspiring generations of cadets to strive for excellence with honour.
