Snow Festival Brings Indian Army, Villagers Together in Bandipora

Bandipora, Feb 13: Indian Army on Friday organized a Snow Festival at Kiatson village, drawing enthusiastic participation from residents of nearby villages including Ducky, Dangarnar, Chechinar, and Chuntawadi.

An official spokesperson of the Wullar Battalion of Indian Army said the snow-covered village turned into a hub of celebration and joy as people of all age groups gathered to take part in the festivities.

He said the event featured lively cultural dance performances by local children, showcasing the rich traditions and talent of the area. Traditional games such as tug of war and kabaddi added to the excitement, with spirited participation from youth, elders, and women, reflecting a strong sense of togetherness and community spirit.

The festival provided a meaningful platform for interaction between Army personnel and villagers, further strengthening bonds of trust, friendship, and mutual respect.

As part of its continued commitment to promoting sports and youth development in remote areas, the Army also presented a volleyball net to the village youth, encouraging them to actively engage in constructive and healthy activities.

The program concluded with refreshments for all participants, leaving behind smiles, renewed camaraderie, and a shared spirit of celebration. The initiative once again reaffirmed the Indian Army’s dedication to community outreach and its ongoing efforts to build goodwill and lasting relationships with the people.
