Edu Deptt initiate process on pending TA; Teachers’ Forum calls it a positive step
Bandipora, Feb 2: The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF), Bandipora, on Sunday welcomed what it described as a positive response from the education authorities regarding the pending issue of release of Transport Allowance (TA) for teachers for January 2026.
The Chief Spokesperson specifically highlighted that the initiative on this issue was first taken by the Zonal Education Officer Bandipora, Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Shah, on 2nd February 2026, who, after examining the matter in a responsible and rule-oriented manner, formally forwarded the case to the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Bandipora. Following this positive step, the Zonal Education Officer Quil Muqam, Mr. Ab Rahim Khan, has today also written a formal communication to the CEO Bandipora, endorsing the genuine claim of teachers. JKTF Bandipora hopes that other Zonal Education Officers across the district will now move forward and follow in the footsteps of the ZEO Bandipora by addressing such issues proactively and in a time-bound manner.

He said the teachers were engaged in student rehearsals, preparation of cultural items, coordination and other related activities on the directions of the concerned authorities and in the larger national interest.
The forum appreciated the role of Zonal Education Officer Bandipora, Fayaz Ahmad Shah, and Zonal Education Officer Quil Muqam, Ab Rahim Khan, for forwarding formal communications to the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Bandipora for further action on the matter.
Anjum Nisar said the CEO Bandipora has now sought details of teachers who actually performed duties during the Republic Day preparations, terming it a step towards processing the issue in a rule-based and procedural manner.
He maintained that teachers were seeking only their legitimate entitlement for duties performed and not any undue benefit. The forum expressed hope that the process initiated by the CEO’s office would be completed at the earliest and the eligible teachers would be granted Transport Allowance without further delay.
JKTF Bandipora, he added, would continue to engage with the administration to safeguard the rights of the teaching community while ensuring transparency and adherence to rules.
