Hajin, Jan 28: At least 12 people were injured on Wednesday after the ceiling of a house collapsed in the Chandergeera area of Hajin in Bandipora district, officials said.
They said several people were inside the room offering condolences when the ceiling suddenly collapsed, triggering panic and trapping some under the debris.
Local residents rushed to the spot and rescued the injured, who were later shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Preliminary reports suggest that the structure was weak, which led to the collapse.
Doctors at CHC Hajin said the condition of the injured was stable. They said atleast 12 people were brought to CHC Hajin for treatment out of which three were shifted to SKIMS Bemina. Doctors said condition of all injured were stable and out of danger.
