Jammu, Jan 27: The Crossed Swords Division, under the aegis of the White Knight Corps, commemorated the 77th Republic Day with a ceremonial community outreach programme at Government High School, Sunail, aimed at fostering patriotism, national pride and respect for constitutional values among youth and local residents.

The event witnessed active participation from ex-servicemen, students and members of the local community, promoting civil–military harmony and reinforcing the bond between the Indian Army and the people. Through interactive sessions, patriotic songs and discussions, the significance of Republic Day and the ideals enshrined in the Constitution were highlighted.

Army personnel engaged with students and residents, emphasizing the values of unity, discipline, dignity and democratic responsibility. The programme served as a platform to inspire young minds and acknowledge the contributions of veterans, while strengthening mutual respect and understanding.

Officials said the initiative reflects the Indian Army’s people-centric approach to nation-building, extending its role beyond security to active community engagement. Such outreach programmes, they added, help reinforce shared national pride and strengthen the collective spirit of unity.

Through these celebrations, the Indian Army reiterated its commitment to nurturing patriotic values and sustaining a strong connection with civil society across the region.
