Republic Day 2026: Full Dress Rehearsal Held Across Bandipora; ADC Unfurls Tricolour at S.K. Stadium

Bandipora, Jan 24: As part of the preparations for the 77th Republic Day celebrations, full dress rehearsals were conducted across Bandipora district on Friday, with the main event held at S.K. Stadium, Bandipora.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Zaffar Hussain Shawal, unfurled the National Flag and inspected the parade, taking salute from the marching contingents drawn from CRPF 3rd Battalion, J&K Police Executive Wing, IRP 21st Battalion, JKP Women Battalion, J&K Forest Division Bandipora, Special Police Officers, NCC cadets, and students from various government and private schools. The rehearsal also featured a spirited performance by the Jammu and Kashmir Police Band.

Addressing the gathering, the ADC highlighted the significance of Republic Day and reflected on the district’s developmental progress. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to public welfare, transparent governance, and effective implementation of government schemes and programmes aimed at improving service delivery and overall development.

The programme was further enlivened by colourful cultural performances presented by students from different educational institutions, showcasing the region’s rich cultural diversity and patriotic spirit.

The ADC appreciated the coordinated efforts of all participating departments, security forces, educational institutions, and members of the public for their cooperation and enthusiastic participation in ensuring smooth conduct of the rehearsal.

The event at S.K. Stadium was attended by SSP Bandipora Ajaz Ahmad Zargar, ASP Bandipora, ACR Shabir Ahmad Wani, senior officers of the district and police administration, district-level officers from various departments, and a large number of people.

Meanwhile, full dress rehearsals were also held at subdivision, tehsil, and block levels across the district. In Sumbal, the National Flag was unfurled by Tehsildar Sumbal Syed Shabar Sarwar at the Irrigation Colony, while similar rehearsals were conducted in Gurez, where the Tricolour was unfurled by the Tehsildar Gurez, marking district-wide preparedness for the national celebrations.
