Jammu, Jan 16: Day three of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) camp, organised by the 8 J&K Girls Battalion NCC under the aegis of the JK&L Directorate, was marked by an extensive Jammu Darshan that offered cadets an immersive experience of the region’s cultural, historical and spiritual heritage.
A total of 500 Senior Division and Senior Wing cadets from Rajasthan and the Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Directorate, accompanied by Associate NCC Officers and Permanent Instruction staff, visited several prominent landmarks across the city. The itinerary included Bahu Fort Gardens, Bawe Wali Mata Temple, Raghunath Temple, Balidan Stambh, the Dogra Art Museum and Hari Palace, giving cadets an opportunity to engage with Jammu’s rich legacy.
The visit to Bawe Wali Mata Temple and Raghunath Temple introduced the cadets to the region’s strong spiritual traditions, while the Balidan Stambh served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the nation’s bravehearts. At the Dogra Art Museum, cadets gained insights into the history, art and culture of the Dogra era through its collection of artefacts, paintings and historical exhibits. The visit to Hari Palace further familiarised them with the royal heritage of the region.
For many cadets, particularly those from Rajasthan and remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir, the darshan proved to be both educational and engaging. The interactions during the tour facilitated cultural exchange, helping participants better understand the diversity and shared heritage of different regions of the country.
Officials said the Jammu Darshan emerged as one of the most engaging components of the camp, reinforcing the core objective of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative by fostering national integration, mutual understanding and respect for India’s pluralistic ethos among the youth.
